I’m wondering if the secondary person you talk about is from Liveship Traders, haha. I was reading THAT part when I read your article. If it is, it will be a funny coincidence.
Also cosplays! I started watching anime because I thought the cosplayer and the character looked super cute 😭 and also I love the way you describe fandom as "about loving something together." like literally this is so lovely
I got into the JJK fandom around the time the final arc began, and it was pretty unhinged and really fun. Egagement was at an all-time high. Chapter reactions, fan theories, agenda posts, Lobotomy Kaisen memes, manga animations, AMVs with Skyfall by Adele and Judas by Lady Gaga, were all flying around. I think the guy who posted leaks on Twitter at one point had more views than Joe Biden. Things have died down since the manga ended, but it was a really fun year and a half.

I know who you are thinking about, but actually it's someone from the Farseer trilogy! good guess tho
Damn! Now I'm trying to remember who it was. It is hard because almost everyone ends up being hurt physically 😆
Here's a hint: it happens early in the trilogy, very earl

Thank you for reading! I wish I had included cosplaying, it's such a fun part of fandom

Oh totally! I had been around since post shibuya, and it was honestly such a great experience to follow the fandom over time! Those AMVs are sooo good
