The Vampire Claudia: A Spark in the Dark

my Claudia playlist, with notes, because I'm still thinking about this show

This should have come out yesterday but well, life happens. Another weird post, something new that I’m trying out and that people on Tumblr seemed interested in, so I hope you guys like it. Please, let me know your thoughts, you can go ahead and roast my music taste. I may do more of these in the future for other characters.

We will never know the “real” Claudia. She’s Frankenstein’s monster, made up of the parts that the other characters remember of her, and even her diary gives us only a biased perspective on her life. Remember, she did dream, it was just a thing she wrote, but it wasn’t true. Claudia’s death forces the viewer to pierce together who she was based on all these separate accounts, unlike Louis, Armand and Lestat, who we can meet in the flesh in the present. She exists entirely in faded ink and memories.

I took this concept as the inspiration for my Claudia playlist. Some of the songs here represent how she viewed herself and her circumstances, and some are from the perspective of other characters. Without further ado, let’s go over each song.
