I think Wheel of Time and Stormlight Archive would make great anime if done right. There's also a Lord of the Rings anime film releasing in December, which I'm cautiously hopeful for. A Game of Thrones anime could also work well, maybe as a remake of the last few seasons with George's input (since we probably won't get Winds of Winter).
I agree with Stormlight, the series is very anime-esque at times. I haven't read WoT but what I've seen about it does seem like it could work better in an animated medium
As someone getting back into the HxH manga, i do agree bungee gum go brrr. In seriousness though the addition of nen alone adds such depth to the world of HxH as that power alone is unique enough to serve as a way to build the world up
Absolutely! Nen opens up so many possibilities, and I love how it's integrated into the world even outside of combat (greed island, Nen-imbued devices, etc)
Your picks for anime world building is on point. One piece I believe has the best in ALL of fiction. Re zero is also underappreciated in that aspect as it has a very unique lore, esp in an over saturated isekai genre
Absolutely agree with you. One Piece is my favorite on the list and its certainly up there with some series outside of anime, and out all the isekai I've seen or heard about, rezero is by far the best at actually creating a fantasy world that isn't just a lifeless stage for the protagonist
Let's read this after I finish the show. I wish there was a reminder tho ;)
